River City Gun Works is proud to offer the finest License to Carry (LTC) class in San Antonio, TX.
LTC is also known as Concealed Handgun Licensing (CHL) class in the state. Taught by experienced instructors in our state-of-the-art facility, students will feel comfortable as they complete the required classroom instruction and range qualification. Built into a single day of instruction. Upon successful completion of the class and submission of the application materials, the state will issue you a license as soon as 60 days, assuming there is no legal disqualification.
Firearm Type: Handgun
Skill Level: Certification
Certification: CCW
Length: approximately 5-6 hours
Subjects Covered in our License To Carry Class:
- Concealed carry law
- Where you can carry and where you cannot
- When you can use force or deadly force
- Legal implications of use of force or deadly force
- Texas weapons laws
- Nonviolent dispute resolution
- Firearms safety
Required Equipment: You will need a safe, serviceable handgun, as well as 50 rounds of factory new ammunition (available for rent on-site) and a current Texas Driver’s License or ID card to complete the class. We do have rentals available if needed.
Instructor: Mr. Sam Younessian is a certified LTC instructor in the State of Texas. The professionally developed LTC curriculum uses multiple training techniques and aides in order to help students learn the material and retain the content.
Prerequisites: The License To Carry course is presented as the minimum necessary to meet the regulatory requirements of the Texas Concealed Handgun Law; there are many significant topics related to concealed carry/open carry and personal self-defense which remain uncovered, and you are strongly encouraged to continue to explore these areas on your own.
Prospective students should note that there is NO instruction on shooting skills, and all students are expected to be able to safely operate their handgun and pass the proficiency exam.
Please consider our Intro to Handgun Class if you need basic shooting instruction. If you do not pass the range qualification, you may be subject to a $35 fee in order to re-qualify.
